The Rug Merchant

The Rug Merchant - Meg Mullins I finished another book in one day. Amazing. This is a book about an Iranian living in New York City. It is full of loneliness, humor, and hope. The main character is lost in his life in America. He does not feel he belongs to the culture, the people. He meets a young woman, who is also looking for companionship, and they form an unexpected bond. There is a little of Iran's history interwoven as well as examples of the differences in U.S. and Iran's culture. I find I am fascinated with Iran now, as the last two books I have read have given me a small taste.
