The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao - Junot Diaz When I first started reading this book the footnotes were really bothering me. Then, as I started learning DR history I enjoyed the footnotes, even looked forward to them. I have never read a work of fiction with footnotes as extensive. And I began to wonder if the history described was actually true, or part of the story. Hmmm...I guess that will be my next mission--to look up the dictatorship of the Dominican Republic! All in all, I enjoyed this book--the characters were believable, the dialogue great. I felt sorrow for Oscar and I wanted him to find love so badly!
